It's well known that children love to draw. Few however continue later on in life. Among those who do persevere only a minority will one day decide to make it their profession. If one substracts from this minority those whose are artists because they had no other possible priority then one is left with only a few exceptions. Born in Paris in 1957, Marc Clauzade distinguished himself early on in life by his drawings which were precise, lively and naturally full of life. His studies as a metal construction's draughtman allowed him to envisage a promising career as an engineer. In 1980 however, he preferred to enroll for six years at the "Beaux arts" in Toulouse. Shortly after obtaining his diploma he is awarded a coveted award for young talents : "Le premier grand prix de peinture à l'huile" (First prize in oil painting) of the "FIAP" salon in Paris. This prize will be the first of many more.
In 1981, the young artist chooses to teach drawing
and painting for beginners. His enthusiastic teaching talents rapidly
attract both esteem and friendship from his pupils. At the same time he
opens an eponymous art gallery in the "Rue Perchepinte" in Toulouse. Being both teacher and art gallery owner keeps Marc Clauzade busy. And yet he is bored, needs to paint and can't help taking notes and sketching. He moves into the gallery basement and paints what he loves the most : the streets, the public gardens, the people, everything that lives and moves. His paintings are a pleasure to all those who discover them.
A contract with "Fine Art gallery" in
Los Angeles, open the doors to the United States for the artist from Toulouse.
Ten of Marc Clauzade's paintings
cross the Atlantic.
Once more, Marc Clauzade throws himself into
another challenge and it's yet another success. In 1994 he enters the "Fine Marlène Van den Bussche- van Bockstaele Gallery" in "Sablon quartier" in Brussels. Since 1995, his permanent exhibitions continue to multiply in Belgium, France, Holland and the U.S. Today, Marc Clauzade's paintings are shown in permanent exhibitions at the "l'Amour de l'Art" gallery in Paris and at the "French Art Network Gallery" in New Orleans - USA.
